John Krafcik, WAYMO’s CEO confirmed that his company’s self-driving software would “likely” have avoided the pedestrian death in which an Uber autonomous car was involved.

On the other hand, on 4th of May 2018, WAYMO released a video from the front-facing cameras in its car, with the brief clip showing a silver Honda coming across the central median and approaching the Waymo autonomous vehicle almost head-on. Waymo claims the AV was in manual mode.

On the 4th April 2018, Groupe ADP launched a trial of two fully electric, driverless shuttles, a first at a French airport. Located in the heart of the airport’s business district, Roissypole, they connect the suburban train station (RER) to the Environmental and Sustainable Development Resource Centre and Groupe ADP’s headquarters. KEOLIS, the operator, has joined forces with NAVYA, the French autonomous shuttle designer, to carry out the pilot project until July 2018.
